One night I was looking at the moon and decided to take pictures of it. Here is the moon in different phases.
7? Days before the full moon

3 Days before the full moon

It was cloudy the day of and the day after the full moon. This was taken two nights after the full moon.

That's awesome Michael. When I was a teenager I bought one of them telescopes and spent hours looking at the universe just wondering what's out there. I became very involved with astronomy and photography but couldn't afford anything to take photos that far away because in those days it wasn't cheap buying all that high tech stuff and now it's amazing what cameras can do.
I bet that if you took the time to get the right photos (maybe some stars in the background you could proly sell some of your work over the internet or something. Those are dang good photos so tell me...what is your interest with this?
If you took a photo 7 days before, and then 3, and then full moon you must have some interest in photography or the univeverse or you wouldn't have held the motivation or memory to get back out there and continue with your goal.
Just wondering what your future plans are for college or ??? |

I just do it for the love of photography. I love taking pictures of all kinds, and even though I don't have the best gear, I still do it.
I bought a used Canon 300D SLR for fairly cheap and I plan on buying a 300 mm lens sometime in the future, so that will soon become my main camera, but I love this little Canon Powershot.
I do find astronomy interesting though, just never got around to doing anymore than looking at the stars.
I like your idea of the stars with the moon, but the sky is not clear enough and they are so small that they most likely wouldn't be picked up with the camera, especially since I have the shutter speed fast to lower the glare off of the moon.
I don't think those photos are good enough to be sold, but thank you!
I plan to attend college to get a Business of Information Technology degree, why I would much rather be a photographer, this is a safe bet, and I might mess around after I get my degree.

Michael, Although IT will proly always be the future, doing something you love also inspires money. I've learned it doesn't really matter how much I make, it never lasts unless I love it and the things I love don't have to create as much money becuae when you do something you enjoy it's never about the money but the money follows. Photography can always be a side thing for extra cash if ya like and if not...ya still have fun and it might be your tranquility away from business.
My son's girlfriend (Allanah)just started college a couple years or so ago and you can't believe how good she's already become. She loves it and she will be one of the awesome ones down the road because she just won't put that stinking camera down, she loves it so much. Anyway she really down to earth and could be a great friend to have when it comes to needing answers or tips. Here is her new website she just created and a little compliment goes along way. What I mean is: If ya like her work, post it on her blog. Get to know her a little bit and she'll be more than happy to help you cause you will have questions. My daughter (Lindsey)is in alot of her photos (the girl climbing outa the trash can...LOL, she's a nut!). Anyway, check it out and tell her I sent you. She loves to express what she knows, loves to help people and I'm sure you'll have some questions about how to capture those moon and star photos, or maybe she can capture one for you if you tell her that would look really neat on her site. Take care! http://alannahrosephotography.blogspot.com/ |
