Did some fly bassin' again today and the fish weren't gettin after it like they did last weekend but we caught more. We ended up with 10 ranging from the biggest as seen below to the smallest, which we didn't count. We did finally had one of them spit out a minner, and these little cannibalistic suckers are eating themselves.

| What set up are you using for bass? I fish a pond that has a lot of small bass have been thinkin' about trying to catch them on a fly rod so I'd appreciate any advice. |

| I have been using my 9wt however you definitely do not need a rod that big..I had planned on throwing some bigger flies is the only reason I've been using it. The flies we are using right now are just basically jigs, a little hook and some streamer hair. For these bass I've been running about 6ft of 8lb mono but I'm sure you could vary this quite a bit. I don't think there's really a set in stone set up to catch them however each rod will throw a little different so you may have to change some things to get yours where you want it. |

| Thanks dhopper, I have a 7wt rod that I'm not very good with but I think I'll go practice a little. |

Nelli, it wasn't very crowded however I did notice the majority of the people fishing the same area. We had our area all to ourselves...I think everyone was scared to be around two guys flingin flies while chasing around bass with the trolling motor. It was pretty entertaining. Andrew any time and if you watched us you'd probably feel better about yourself. |

LOL I bet! I think I would probably stand clear myself! I have a 9wt rob i built a few years ago just for that purpose... It never would have occured to me to take it out in 90 degree water though! Being a slow time of year for me fishing wise, I see no better time... makes since I suppose. All the right bugs are hatching, or have just finished. |
